As the narrative goes, Blake Austin turned down a $2.8 million contract extension from the Canberra Raiders.
Subsequently, the club has offered multiple contracts since for less money but those of which have also been rejected by Austin.
The former Tiger and Panther told Triple M Sunday Footy, his decision to turn those offers down wasn't about money.
"When I turned down that first offer, it was a tough time (for me) here in Canberra," Austin said pointing to his mental state of mind during the NRL season last year.
However, it has now come to light the Raiders have no offer on the table for Austin and will be reluctant to offer another one anytime soon.
