There are reports that Ash Taylor may be on his way back to the Broncos, with the Titans struggling to lock him up for the future.

Speaking on Triple M Saturday NRL, Triple M and Fox Sports' James Hooper said that the Broncos are in with a solid chance at luring Taylor back.

"Wayne (Bennett) has gone on the record to confirm that he does want him back," Hoops said.

"I can understand it, and I think it will happen.

"While he's signed with the Titans next year, I think beyond that he'll be at the Brisbane Broncos.

"I feel for the Titans. They've been trying to extend his contract virtually all season and they haven't been able to have any success with that.

"They know that for them to compete for a premiership, they need him in that side. He's the future of the team, and he's clearly one of the best young playmakers coming through at the moment.

"You'd have to pay him a million dollars. Given the current playmakers and the current market... Matty Johns wrote a column earlier this season saying that he's the next Johnathan Thurston. And I think everybody probably shares a similar view."

"He's not going to win a premiership at the Titans," Triple M's Wendell Sailor said.
