The Brisbane Broncos have secured the signing of controversial figure Matt Lodge, end his three-year exile from the NRL.

According to the Courier Mail, Lodge has signed a cut-price one-year deal worth reported $85,000. 

Earlier this year, Lodge was ordered to pay $US1.234 million in damages, after a vicious assault in New York in 2015. 

The 22-year old former West Tiger played for the Redcliff Dolphins in the Queensland Cup this past season.
