Ben Hunt's demotion to reserve grade has been short-lived, with the Brisbane playmaker recalled for Saturday's NRL clash with Canberra.

However, coach Wayne Bennett, who dropped the former Australian halfback to QLD Cup last week, has not named him in the starting side to replace five-eighth Anthony Milford who has suffered a shoulder injury.

Instead Kodi Nikorima and Benji Marshall will start the match in the halves.

The St George Illawarra-bound No.7 was sensationally dropped in favour of Nikorima in the side's last start against South Sydney.

Milford is expected to miss the next six weeks with a dislocated shoulder meaning Hunt has a chance to re-establish himself in the Broncos top side.

The Raiders will be boosted for the clash with the return of incumbent Australian prop Shannon Boyd from a knee problem.

Canterbury's Josh Reynolds has been named to return from his hamstring injury, setting up an intriguing clash with Warriors five-eighth Kieran Foran.

Foran - who is battling a quad injury but has been named to play - will arrive at Belmore next year, a move which has squeezed fan favourite Reynolds out of his junior club.

The Warriors will be without centre Solomone Kata due to family reasons.

North Queensland recruit Te Maire Martin is set for a possible showdown with his old club Penrith just days after exiting the foot of the mountains.

The Kiwis Test half was released from his contract to join Paul Green's side and has been named on an extended bench and could run out if Johnathan Thurston or Michael Morgan don't recover following State of Origin II.

Gold Coast winger Anthony Don has been named to return to face cellar dwellers Wests Tigers after recovering from a leg injury.

Tigers hooker Jacob Liddle has been named to start ahead of Matt McIlwrick.
