It appears that the man of the moment Cameron Smith has been the victim of a cheeky social media prank.

foxsports.com.au has reported that it was a case of friendly fire that saw this tweet appear from Smith's account. See below.

The emoji text translates to "All hail the G.O.A.T." - or 'greatest of all time' - which is rather fitting as Smith becomes just the second player to make 50 test appearances for Australia.

He shares the honour with Darren Lockyer, who hung up the boots with 59 tests.

Smith later took to Twitter to confirm that the G.O.A.T. tweet wasn't posted by him.
