Cameron Smith has just about achieved everything there is to accomplish in rugby league.

From NRL Premierships, World Cups, Dally M Medals and a plethora of record-breaking statistics, Smith is on a pathway to immortality.

Although, there is one record Smith is keen to break, the only one that alludes him. In fact, it alludes every player and every club in the NRL era.

Smith, wants to be part of the first NRL side to win back-to-back Premierships to cap off an incredible career.

"It’d be nice to go back-to-back next year," Smith after winning the Golden Boot award.

"That’s something I don’t think any team’s achieved in the NRL-era, so that’d be a pretty special thing to do because there’s been a few sides there in the grand final after they’ve won a premiership.

"I was involved in a couple of those teams and we couldn’t get the job done, it’s a really, really hard thing to do.

"That would be a pretty special achievement to be a part of a side that could go back-to-back premiers."

Since the inception of the NRL in 1998, only two sides have had the opportunity to win back-to-back Premierships.

After winning in 2002, the Sydney Roosters couldn't back up in 2003 losing to the Penrith Panthers, meanwhile, after the Storm's now infamous Grand Final win in 200, the Storm were demolished in the 2008 decider, 40-0, against the Manly Sea Eagles.
