Despite only staying at the Cowboys for 2017 before moving to the Knights on a huge deal, Ponga and Thurston look to already have a real zinger of a combination sorted.

That was just the first game of the Nines comp, with the combination of Ponga and Gela-Mosby wowing the crowds in their second game, a 35 - 6 win over the Raiders.

"It's ridiculous how cheap the Knights have got Kalyn Ponga for the next three years!" Triple M's Jimmy Smith said.

Gela-Mosby and Ponga both managed doubles as the Cowboys grabbed a spot in the quarter finals.
