Coach Freddy 'Grown Up' Since Roosters Coaching Days

It may have only been a short spell but newly appointed NSW Blues Origin coach Brad Fittler took a lot from his time coaching the Roosters.  

In fact, Fittler admitted he understood the game more when things weren’t going so well at the Bondi club. 

"I probably learned more from the year we lost than I ever have in my life," Fittler said. 

"When I got them, within 12 months we were coming first and within another 12 months we were coming last again.  

"So what I've got to do is learn from my mistakes and take out of it what I did well and why we did well early.

"I've got ideas of what went right and wrong at the Roosters.

"I'm a lot older, so that helps." 

Fittler signed a two-year deal with the NSW Rugby League and will be aiming to end Queensland's decade long dominance in Origin.
