He is still yet to make a formal decision on his career in 2018, but it has been reported that Cooper Cronk has accepted a position in the coaching ranks at the Melbourne Storm.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Cronk has agreed to work as a specialist halves coach for the Storm in 2018.

Cronk announced earlier in the season that 2017 would be his last year playing with the Storm, but it's still unclear whether he will play on for another club next year after a planned move to Sydney to be with his partner Tara Rushton.

“So we have a preference that he doesn’t play for two reasons – one we don’t want to be playing against Cooper because he is such a quality player,’’ Storm's football manager Frank Ponissi said.

“And two, it just means we can start using him straightaway in a coaching capacity which we wouldn’t be able to do if he went to another club.”
