The Cronulla Sharks are set swoop on Mitchell Pearce if the unsettled halfback wants out of the Roosters.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting the Sharks have plenty of space in the salary cap and want Pearce to join Chad Townsend in the halves after the departure of James Maloney.

If the Sharks manage to snare the NSW halfback, the imminent arrival of Matt Moylan will see the Panthers captain move to fullback.

Pearce, currently holidaying in the US, is weighing up whether to play a 'super-sub' role with the Roosters after the arrival of Cooper Cronk to the Bondi club.

The Knights and Sea Eagles have also shown their interest in bringing Pearce to their respective clubs.
