Damien Cook has re-signed with the South Sydney Rabbitohs on a four-year contract extension that will see him remain with the club until 2023.

It comes at the end of a stellar season for the 23-year-old, who won the Dally M Hooker of the Year Award and the Rabbitohs' own George Piggins Medal.

In a statement published on the Souths website, Cook said he was "very excited" and "happy to have [his] future sorted".

"Souths has been my home for the past three years and I didn't think it would be possible to be able to secure things for the next five years but I'm so happy that will be the case," he said.

"I've loved every moment of my time here, even the tough times, and I think we're building to something nicely.

"It's exciting times at the Rabbitohs and I'm looking forward to seeing where we can take it in 2019 and beyond."
