Looking to the future

Bulldogs coach Des Hasler has rubbished claims that he's on his way out at the Bulldogs, saying that he'll be at the helm of the club for another three seasons.

Despite his contract expiring at the end of 2017 - and well-publicised crisis meetings at the back of last year - Hasler insists that he'll be at the Bulldogs until 2019.

"Termination of my tenure here has never, ever been discussed ... the ongoing contractual discussions for '18 and '19 are really positive, very confidential.

"So we're currently engrossed in that."

At today's press conference, Hasler also insisted that he wasn't concerned by the public loss of faith that he was shown by club legend Steve Mortimer.

"Steve Mortimer is an absolute legend of this club and he's contributed a lot to football," he said.

"And whilst his resignation highlighted his attitude towards that high standard of corporate governance (at the Bulldogs), he's still very much a part of club, in particular with a program we've got going with the alumni."
