The fallout from Des Hasler's departure continues, with the former Bulldogs coach suing the club for a breach of contract.

According to Nine News, documents have been filed by lawyers in the Supreme Court today, with the issue of contention surrounding the Bulldogs' decision to sack Hasler without a payout.

Hasler was axed in September, despite signing on for a contract extension with the club earlier in the year.

It is understood that in light of this extension, Hasler has sought a $1 million payout pursuant to the alleged terms of the agreement.

“Des’s current contract expires October 2017," Chairman Ray Dib told the club's website in September.

“The board has made the decision not to renew that contract.

“Going forward there will be no liabilities on the club for the next two years.’’
