Rooster co-captain Jake Friend joined Triple M's The Grill Team and spoke of the influence the late great Arthur Beetson had on 13-time premiership winning club.
Friend was one of the many players Beetson scouted during his long-tenure with the Roosters.
"I was actually scouted at a carnival up in Redcliffe from Artie Beetson," Friend told The Grill Team.
"They brought me down and had a look around the club and signed a scholarship at 16 and since then I've been a Rooster."
Beetson was responsible for bringing the likes of Anthony Minichiello, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Mitchell Pearce and Friend to the Roosters.
Friend told The Grill Team of Beetson's influence within the club, still to the present day.
"He's pretty famous around the club and everyone knows at the Roosters how important he was to this team," he said.
"I'm pretty humbled to be spotted by him."
