It was the story of the World Cup, the Tongan team who defied all odds to create history when they became the first tier-two International side to defeat a tier-one nation.

They were merely inches away from a historic Grand Final appearance, narrowly going down to England in the semi-final.

It was a team for all of Tonga, who they could love, appreciate and support on rugby league's biggest stage.

Yet, one of the stars of that Tongan team, Andrew Fifita is willing to give that all up for an Origin series win with NSW.

Fifita spoke to foxsports.com.au, about just how difficult a decision it could be to pick between NSW and Tonga.

"It’s a tough one ... I love NSW, and the only thing I have left to do is win an Origin series," Fifita told Fox Sports

"I missed 14' (NSW series win) through injury, it’s one of the toughest decisions in the world.

"I know how much it means to Tonga and to my parents and grandparents, my family and friends, and to the other squad members how much it means to play for Tonga."

Tonga are scheduled to play a mid-season Test against Pacific rivals Samoa, the same weekend Origin two is scheduled to be played.
