Much has been made about the NRL's announcement that in 2020 one Origin series game will be played at the Adelaide Oval, as they attempt to infiltrate the AFL-mad city.

The ‘city of churches’ joins Melbourne (2018) and Perth (2019) as the latest states to host the marquee fixture of Rugby League.

It seems to have stirred up everyone’s interest, including internationally.

This weekend, the Colombian city of Bogata …. (Yes that’s right Colombia) … will host the first ever Latin American State of Origin series.

Two Colombian states Cundinamarca and Antioquia will settle their differences on the footy field, for the first time ever in a full 13-a-side interstate game on South American soil.

This international fixture adds to the Latino-heritage game, between the Sapos (toads) and Cucarachas (cockroaches) in the Wollongong on March 3 and Noosa on June 9.

Melbourne in 2018,
Perth in 2019,
Adelaide in 2020 ....

Bogota, Colombia in 2021?

Well, anything is possible.
