One of the big headlines of the week has been Mitch Moses' deflection to the Eels, with significant controversy surrounding if and when the Tigers will release him from the club.

His halves counterpart, Luke Brooks, has reportedly decided to stay on at the Tigers, with a two-year deal worth $1.1 million.

Speaking on Fox Sports' Super Saturday coverage, former Tigers coach Jason Taylor has said that he thinks the move to Parramatta is in the best interests of the Tigers, with halfback Luke Brooks given the opportunity to take control of the side.

“I think that (Brooks) needs to step up and lead this team and I don’t think that it’s going to be a negative for Luke if Mitch does move to Parramatta,” Taylor said.

“It gives Luke the opportunity to own the team, he needs to take over it and run it in his fashion.”
