The inaugural season of the NRLW kicked off over the weekend and was, by all accounts, a big success.

More than 18,800 fans arrived three hours before the Broncos V Dragons men's final to watch the Brisbane women defeat St George-Illawarra, 30-4.

One of the stars of the win was winger and Australian Defence Force member Julia Robinson, who told us the incredible story of how she got from the Army barracks in Townsville to the locker rooms at Red Hill.

Robinson also revealed which Bronco and Maroon sent her a good luck message prior to running out onto Suncorp stadium for the first time and laughed about the massive hit she copped in Brisbane's history making win.
