Both sides have been hit with injuries in this year's ANZAC clash between the Dragons and the Roosters, with particularly Gareth Widdop pulling up worse for wear.

The Dragons have confirmed that Widdop has suffered a medial knee ligament injury and won't be back today

This comes only hours after Widdop was named by Bennett in England's side to play Samoa.

The loss of Widdop proved a turning point in the game, with the Dragons letting a 6 - 0 lead slip, blowing out to 6 - 10 with the Dragons' intensity severely dropping off.

A try in the dying minutes saw the Dragons barge over, with Dugan converting from the sideline to take it to 12 - 12 with a minute on the clock.

Meanwhile, Blake Ferguson was struggling in backplay, but managed to score an important try for the Roosters.

Josh Dugan also left the field early in the second half for a HIA test, but returned later in the game after being cleared.
