After QLD's humbling loss to NSW in Origin I on Wednesday, there have been calls for an overhaul in the Maroons ranks.

One of the primary targets has been Nate Myles, with Triple M's Gorden Tallis saying that his service to QLD can't be understated.

"You would think that Nate Myles has maybe played his last game," Tallis said.

"There's a guy like Coen Hess who's playing the house down.

"It's hard because I've never wanted to be one of those players who says that someone is not good enough to wear their jersey.

"But I know that we've got to make changes.

"If we don't put the young players in now and see whether they sink or swim and build them and get them used to that level of football, next year we might be behind the eight ball even more.

"I think though, if that was Nate Myles' last game, he hasn't lost any friends or anybody. He's added to the jersey every time he's run out for QLD.

"He mightn't have been the best player on the field, but he's never let anybody down and he's played to the best of his ability.

"If the best of your ability isn't good enough anymore, then so be it."
