It's no secret rugby union in Australia has hit an all-time low both on and off the field.

On field, our Australian contingent of teams in the Super Rugby competition are struggling to compete with the teams for New Zealand and South Africa. 

Our Wallabies have failed to reclaim the Bledisloe Cup since last defeating the All Blacks over a three-match series in 2001. 

Plus, Super Rugby crowds are dwindling and then there's the off-field controversy surrounding Israel Folau.
