Speaking on Triple M Saturday NRL, QLD coach Kevin Walters said that his side are ready to set it up for game two.

After an uncharacteristically quite game one for QLD, Kevvie said that it will be a case of the big men needing to patch up the middle of the field - which was where NSW ran riot last time the sides met.

"The next generation of Maroons stars are coming through - well, they're not stars yet, but they're potentials," Walters said. Listen to the full report below.

"We just needed to bring some fresh legs into the side and we've done that. We've made some changes and it was a tough time last week but we got through it all and hopefully the guys that we have selected, well they've been training well but it's not about training, it's about game night and what they can bring.

"We fell away from just doing the little things in the game right with inside pressure and working hard from marker and filling that space around the middle - all those little things.

"It's not the big plays, it's the little plays and doing your job really well - that's what beat us in game one.

"If we get dominated down the middle like we were, Billy Slater won't make a difference and I might as well run myself out there and be fullback."
