Irish forwards Tyrone McCarthy and Kyle Amor have claimed they didn't receive any match payments for the playing in this year's World Cup.
Australian and Kiwi players receive $20,000 per game, while it's widely reported Tongan and Samoan players only receive $500 per game.
However, the more shocking claim from McCarthy is how some of his teammates are financially worse for partaking in rugby league's showpiece event.
