Roosters hooker Jake Friend is free to play in the 2018 NRL Grand Final after being hit with a Grade One Dangerous Contact charge for a reckless tackle on Greg Inglis.

The charge carries a maximum of 100 points which would equal a one-game suspension.

However, the early-guilty would downgrade the points to only 75, meaning Friend is free to play in the decider.

Meanwhile, Cooper Cronk will be given up until kickoff to prove his fitness after scans revealed the Roosters marquee suffered a severe shoulder injury.
