In an impressive achievement, John Sutton is set to play his 300th game in Rabbitohs colours across all grades (and his 271st first grade game).

Sutton played his 250th first grade game for Souths mid-last year, and he will surpass Craig Coleman's record at the club of 297 games to be the most capped player of all time, according to rabbitohs.com.au.

After a rather disappointing first half of the year for Souths, Sutton's teammates have said they're looking to have a big game for their premiership captain.

"We do need to get a win and we'll be trying our hardest this week. It's John Sutton's 300th appearance for South Sydney and it'll be occasion so we'll all be working hard to put some of those wrongs right," Thomas Burgess said.

"It's John Sutton's 300th game for the Club this weekend. I don't think it's ever been done before.I got to play with 'Sutto' in his 250th game so it's a massive occasion this weekend," Cody Walker said.

"We were in that game (against Broncos) on the weekend - the effort and all that was there but it wasn't good enough. We're looking to turn it around this weekend against the Titans."
