It has been the most heavily debated topic so far in the 2018 season and according to NRL CEO Todd Greenberg it will continue for the rest of the season.

Yes, we are talking about the referees and penalties. 

Greenberg joined the Triple M Grill Team on Friday morning and offered his support of the referees blowing nearly 100 more penalties in 2018 compared to the same time last year

"If people want to rip into the referees they better rip into me first... They are doing exactly what I've told them," Greenberg said on The Grill Team. 

While it may take sometime for players to adapt to the new measures taken by the referees, Bulldogs centre Josh Morris has opened up on the most frustrating part of the constant penalty calling.

"The most frustrating thing was that they weren’t naming the players making the offence," Morris told Triple M Saturday NRL. 

"If you get called for the penalty, you are going to respond to it.

"But if they stick with it soon enough players won’t get penalised."
