Newcastle have taken another step in their rebuild with the signing of Brisbane centre Tautau Moga until the end of the 2020 NRL season.

Moga joins a steadily growing list of players to link with the Knights for next year, including teen sensation Kalyn Ponga from North Queensland and veteran Sydney Roosters back-rower Aidan Guerra.

Roosters centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall also joined the club mid-season.

Knights chief executive Matt Gidley said the 23-year-old Moga would be an excellent addition to their squad and hinted other recruiting announcements would follow.

"Tautau is an athletic and exciting outside back and he will be a great addition to our squad," Gidley said.

"We continue to build our squad for next season and beyond and plan to have further announcements over the coming weeks."

Moga had failed to establish himself, mostly due to injury, in stints with the Sydney Roosters and North Queensland for the past four seasons but hasn't missed a game in his first year with the Broncos in 2017.

He has 15 tries from 49 career games and will likely form a solid centre-pairing with Kenny-Dowall when he arrives in the Hunter next year.
