“I’m delighted to be given the responsibility of leading the mighty Sea Eagles,” Gorman said.

“One of my initial priorities will be building stronger communication between our Club and its many stakeholders – including Members, fans, partners and the broader community, and of course Council and State and Federal Government.”

Meanwhile, Barrett is happy to further commit to the Sea Eagles.

“We have a very talented and liked minded playing group who I really enjoy coaching,’’ Barrett said.

"They enjoy playing with, and for each other, and we have all the ingredients for continued success at the Sea Eagles.

“I really appreciate the support I’ve received from the players, coaches and support staff and also the Board, management, and our Members, fans, partners and the community.

"I’m now focused on preparing the team for the 2018 season.”
