Reports are emerging that Penrith Panthers NSW Cup coach Garth Brennan will be announced as the new head coach of the Gold Coast Titans.

Post

If true, Brennan has beaten the likes of former Blues Origin coach Laurie Daley, Broncos assistant James Demetirou and former Rabbitohs head coach Michael Maguire for the vacant role.

Triple M Grill Team's Mark Geyer, considers the former Panthers assistant's imminent appointment to be a great pick up for the Titans.

"It's a great results for the Titans," MG said.

"Not only have they got a great coach but they've got a great bloke.

"He's got good intestinal fortitude, he's all about the player and making the player better.

"He's won three lower grade comps - the good thing for the Titans, he'll go for less money than someone like Maguire.

MG believes the Brennan can build something special with the Titans because of his attitude towards the game.

"He doesn't delve into politics of rugby league which in laymen's terms means he doesn't like the sh*t in the game," he said.

"He just gets straight into what is important and that's the players and how their performance is on the footy field. To me thats refreshing in today's game."

"They need it. They need a bloke to go in who's going to be a great mentor, but also going to be firm but fair."
