Matty Johns' Mail On Queensland Team For Origin Decider

Triple M's Matty Johns has backed former QLD coach Mal Meninga's call to play Daly Cherry-Evans in the halves for Queensland, replacing the injured Johnathan Thurston.

“Early on in the week I thought they were going to stick loyal with Michael Morgan and give him a chance because he really hasn’t had a chance in the starting line-up for QLD, and he’s been banging down the door waiting for it,” said Triple M Grill Team’s Matty Johns.

“I gotta feeling they’ll go DCE [Daly Cherry-Evans] in the starting line-up, Morgan on the bench and [Cameron] Munster in the centres.

“So it’s a pretty decent line-up.”

Mal Meninga has also called for Sam Thaiday to be reinstated, saying his experience would be important.

"There's a bit of a redemptive feature to Sam," Meninga told AAP.

"We haven't got John in the side now, we haven't got Darius."
