Fearless forward Dale Finucane has committed to Melbourne for another four years.

“I’ve loved every minute of my two seasons at Storm, so while it was a big decision for me to make, it was ultimately an easy one to sign on,” Finucane said.

“Four more years in the purple jersey is something I am really excited about and I can’t wait to help this team continue to chase ultimate success."

This is really important news for Storm fans, following the loss of key forward Kevin Proctor (Titans) and Tohu Harris and Jordan McLean who will be leaving at the end of the season to join the Warriors and Cowboys respectively. Read the full statement below.

Melbourne Storm have continued their run of key player signings with tough forward Dale Finucane agreeing to terms on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old has committed to remain with the Club until at least the end of the 2021 season, on the back of Jesse Bromwich, Kenny Bromwich and Joe Stimson also re-signing.

Finucane has played 119 NRL games to date, 53 in the purple jersey since crossing from the Bulldogs at the start of the 2015 season.

Finucane’s fearless, team-orientated style has seen him grow into a mainstay of Craig Bellamy’s side and he was promoted to the Club’s senior leadership group in 2017.

“I’ve loved every minute of my two seasons at Storm, so while it was a big decision for me to make, it was ultimately an easy one to sign on,” Finucane said.“Four more years in the purple jersey is something I am really excited about and I can’t wait to help this team continue to chase ultimate success.

“Hopefully the purple army will be out in force to support us this season and we can try to make 2017 a memorable one.”

Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said, “Dale typifies what a Melbourne Storm player is, he is one of the toughest players we’ve had at the Club and sets a high standard for his teammates to follow.

“He has been elevated to our senior leadership group this season and brings so much to the table for the way he conducts himself both on and off the field.

“We’re excited to have Dale and his partner Maddie remain in Melbourne for the next four years.”
