Mark "MG" Geyer has recounted the cracking - and ingenious - way he once tried to cheat his way through a pre-season time trial.

Speaking on Triple M's The Rush Hour with MG, the former footy legend was explaining how exhausting the off-season can be when he admitted that one year, when he was playing for the Balmain Tigers, it all got a little too much for him.

"We were both pretty fit but just didn't feel like doing 13ks. So we hatched a plan."
