QLD utility Michael Morgan has commented on speculation that he may be the man to fill in for Johnathan Thurston in Origin III, saying that he'd love the opportunity to start the game.

Speaking on Triple M Sunday NRL, Morgan was humble about being thrown into contention - especially when rattling off all the other players whose names have been tossed around. Listen to the full interview below.

"It would be nice and if the opportunity was there..." Morgan said.

"I in no way consider myself a certain starter for that team or anything like that.

"I still feel that each game I'm still waiting by the phone for the call to see if I'm named.

"I'll get through this week and hopefully finger crossed I'm there somewhere in the team for game three.

"Whether it's starting or not, obviously it would be very exciting to but I'm just happy to be named in the team.

"I don't know how he's thought about it. Obviously there's Cameron Munster having the relationship with the Melbourne boys could be an option. I don't know how much longer Anthony Milford's got out. Corey Norman, Daly Cherry-Evans, there's a few when you really start to think about it. What way they go though, I honestly have no idea.

"I'd love to, don't get me wrong. I'm just simply saying that I'm more than happy to play any role in that side that they want from me."
