Last week, Russell Crowe joined Merrick Watts on Triple M for his drive show Merrickville.

On his way into the studio, Rusty stopped to quickly chat with Michael Ennis, who was a guest on the Dead Set Legends that evening.

“I ran into him at Triple M the other day," Ennis told Fox Sports.

"Russell was coming in, the place was in lock down, there was fruit platers going everywhere and (host) Tony Squires said hello to Russell and he saw me sitting there and he came over.

“He just said ‘I really like what you’re doing at Fox, the thing that I like most is that you’ve got an opinion and you stick with it. You don’t jump on the fence just because everyone else is and I think you’re doing a good job’.

“And I said ‘th-th-th-thank you, th-thank you’.”

That's not the only time that Rusty has had some kind words for Ennis.

After the 2014 grand final, while celebrating the Rabbitohs' victory over the Bulldogs, Rusty took some time out of the party to speak with Ennis.

“South Sydney win their first premiership in a very long time and through all that emotion and adulation that South Sydney had in that moment, Russell Crowe sort of beelined for me while the presentation was on.

“He just had some really nice words for me. It was along the lines of ‘there’s a lot of disappointment for you, but I want you to know I’ve always really enjoyed watching you play. I love the way you carry yourself’."

Great stuff.
