Netflix want to take take sports documentaries to the next level, after their successful foray into the world of sports.

It has been reported the global streaming giant are courting English Premier League giants Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City for a 'fly-on-the-wall' style documentary.

Whilst documentaries on these giants of the soccer world would be exceptional viewing, could you imagine a 'sports doco' following the trials and tribulations of an NRL club.

Just imagine if Netflix were following the Penrith Panthers amidst all the Matt Moylan and Anthony Griffin controversy.

What about a documentary on the highly-publicised Super League war, that plagued the game for years during the 90's.

Wouldn't you love to be a fly-on-the-wall to hear what Laurie Daley said to the Blues in the sheds after yet another disappointing Origin series loss.

Netflix have recently given a new lease of live to the 'real-life' genre of video, with popular documentaries Making A Murder or Last Chance U pulling in big numbers for the streaming service.

Money is no issue for Netflix after it was recently announced the online-streaming service has the budget ability to pump AUD$25 million an hour into newly commissioned shows.
