The impending sale of the Gold Coast Titans could play a massive role in a number of coaching roles both here in the NRL and the English Super League.

According to Triple M and the Australian's Brent Read, the Titans currently spend the least amount of money in the NRL on its football department and with the Titans set to announce their new coach before the sale is complete, the money available to the new coach might be a deterring factor.

"That club spends the least money of any football club in the NRL at the moment on its football department," Ready said. Listen to the full audio below at the 13 minute mark

"If you don't know who the owner is, you don't know how much money is spent on your football department."

With Michael Maguire sitting high on the shortlist for the Titans vacant coaching job after rejecting the Warrington Wolves to stay in the NRL, this could lead Maguire to taking over the Bulldogs if Des Hasler is sacked, according to Ready.

"Michael Maguire isn't the sort of coach who would want to go to a club where he wont have resources available to him," he said.

"He would want to go to a club that's strong, that has money and willing to spend money."

"So if Michael Maguire has an option, Canterbury would be his first, I don't think it would be the Gold Coast."
