The NRL are set to ban the use of mobile phones in dressing rooms to battle concerns over players having contact with gamblers and betting agencies.

The ban follows vision of injured players using their phones during games.

The Australian Rugby League Commission is set to meet on January 31, and the ban is set to be proposed that day.

Club doctors, football managers and two other staff members would be exempt from the proposed ban.
