There are reports that Josh Dugan is set to test his worth on the open market, following disappointment with the Dragons' contract offer beyond the 2017 season.

According to news.com.au, the Nine Network claimed that Dugan is off contract at the end of 2017, and the deal the Dragons came up with was $100, 000 less per year.

Apparently the club has advised Dugan that he's free to suss out the open market, and there's talk that he may look to move to another NRL club or abroad.

Dugan has apparently instructed his management to see what he could get in French rugby.

Given the big-dollar signing of Ben Hunt, this may be the cause of Dugan's woes with the Dragons having to monitor their spending elsewhere.
