Broncos winger Corey Oates will play in Friday night's Grand Final Qualifier, despite being knocked-out in a sickening collision during last week's semi-final against the Panthers.

Oates successfully passed a series of cognitive tests with the Broncos medical staff giving him the green-light to take on the Storm on Friday night.

The Oates KO divided the rugby league world, with many including Triple M's Gorden Tallis suggesting the Queensland Origin representative should be ruled out of the game against the Storm.

"If this was boxing, he would be out for six weeks, minimum," Tallis said.

However, Oates will return to action in Friday night's Grand Final Qualifier, along with Broncos captain Darius Boyd who will finally make his return from a hamstring injury.
