Details have emerged that reveal the Penrith Panthers knew about Matt Moylan's health problems a month ago.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that “Penrith club doctor Norm Southern sent a letter to Panthers officials a month ago, alerting them to Matt Moylan’s health and how he had rejected advice to receive counselling.”

Moylan’s mental health issues were made public last Friday when it was announced he would take time away from the game.

The Daily Telegraph also reports that Moylans teammates have reached out to him

Prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard says “He’s our captain, and having been around the club long enough to know Moysa, I messaged him to tell him I’m here for him and thinking of him and hope he’s OK,’’ Campbell-Gillard said.

“He pretty much replied, ‘she’ll be right’.
