Cronulla Sharks captain Paul Gallen has hinted he could be finished with boxing after his latest victory inside the squared circle.

Gallen took his professional record to 8-0, after an unanimous points decision over Fijian bruiser Puna Rasaubale.

When quizzed after the fight about what's next, Gallen said that was more than likely his last fight, unless Sonny Bill Williams wants to throw down.

"I never say never but more than likely not," Gallen said.

"I'm getting to the end of my career now and boxing is a very hard sport.

"It's not so much the fight, it's the rounds of training you've got to do throughout the week. Constantly getting punched in the head it's not that healthy.

"So I'm not too sure but there's one fight I'm after and everyone wants to see me verse Sonny Bill Williams.

"I've agreed to my terms so let's see if it will happen one day."
