Former NSW skipper Paul Gallen was on Channel 9’s Sports Sunday where he spoke openly about rumours of a drinking culture in the Blues. Watch the full video below.
“What I can tell you categorically – I would have a meeting on the very first day of camp, and I would get in with the boys and I’d say 'Look boys – let’s have a go tonight, it’s the first night in camp'," he said, on Channel 9’s Sports Sunday.
"It’s ten days before the game – let’s have a good night, let’s enjoy each other’s company, let’s get to know each other, let’s build relationships, let’s have a good night out and have a few drinks… but from then on, it’s game preparation, and that’s what would always happen.
"I never drank the 2014 and 2015 series at all.
"I don’t think there is a drinking culture amongst the players – a couple of individuals let everyone down this year."
