Josh Dugan's emotional press conference on Tuesday afternoon prompted Triple M's Mark Geyer to reflect on how much of an effect perception can have on our footy players.

Dugan seemed to have been caught off-guard while speaking to media after a Sharks training session, visibly tearful as he pointed out that he has felt like an easy target since 2017.

MG was able to relate; speaking on The Rush Hour with MG, he explained that even now, at the age of 50, he's still trying to change people's perception of him.

Listen below:

"I don't see where anyone else but himself has been hurt along the voyage," MG added. "This is a three minute interview that basically, after 30 seconds, he went straight to tears.

"That means that's been building up for a long long time."
