Korbin Sims is up there among Newcastle's best, but the impact forward has been given permission to negotiate with other clubs.
Brisbane’s Wayne Bennett had expressed interest but it looks like Souths have come in with a late offer, reports Rugby League Week.
“Souths are also keen on Sims and are considering making the big prop an offer far greater than the Broncos can afford,” reports Rugby League Week.
Sims, 25, made his NRL debut for Newcastle in 2013. He’s played 76 NRL games and six tests for Fiji.
Last year, the Dragons snapped up his brother and teammate Tariq Sims on a three-year deal.
