South Sydney Rabbitohs have released a statement after allegations that "high profile" players exposed themselves during a video chat with a 23-year-old woman.

A report in The Daily Telegraph alleges that the woman was left "violated and disgusted" when two players stripped off without her consent in a "funny" video call on Facebook.

It's alleged that several other players were involved in the call but only two have been accused of lewd behaviour, one having allegedly exposed his genitals while a second is accused of flashing his backside.

The Daily Telegraph claims to have screenshots taken by the woman during the video call, which is reported to have taken place on May 26 after Souths win over the Warriors in New Zealand.

None of the accused players have been identified.

In a statement to the media this morning, Rabbitohs officials said that a "thorough investigation" will be taken in conjunction with the NRL's Integrity Unit.

"Since receiving contact details last night for the female involved, Rabbitohs officials have attempted to make contact via phone and email," they said.

"The Rabbitohs take any allegations of player misbehaviour very seriously and will not be making any further comment until the completion of the investigation."

Matty Johns briefly touched on the subject on Triple M's The Grill Team on Friday morning; listen below.
