There have been some great debuts in the last couple of seasons, but it's unlikely that any come close to this yarn.

Campbell Graham played his first NRL game for the Rabbitohs this evening in their win over the Dragons at the SCG.

Graham is just 18 years old, and actually had the week off training to do his trial HSC exams.

According to Triple M's sideline commentator Steve Mascord, he only got the call-up today after finding out that Robert Jennings had pulled out due to a knee injury.

"Souths actually had to seek an exemption from the squad rules to include him," Mascord said.

"Apparently he's a future champion and is good at a number of sports.

"He also has two Scottish parents, and Scotland are very keen on him for the World Cup."

Post-match, Triple M's Bill Harrigan spotted Graham going over to a group of his school friends.

“They were that excited, one of the fellows was on crutches and jumped the fence to the bemusement of the security staff," Harrigan said.

“They came over and told him to get back, but Graham asked to have a photo”
