Canberra Raiders star Jack Wighton has pleaded not guilty to multiple assault charges, the club has confirmed.

Wighton was charged with nine offences, including assault causing actual bodily harm and common assault, over an alleged incident at Academy night club in Canberra in early February.

The 25-year-old is also accused of urinating in a public place.

In a statement, the Raiders said that Wighton would continue to train and play with the club until he faces court in Canberra in July.

"The Raiders continue to work with the NRL integrity unit and have informed them of the latest developments," they added.

Wighton was yesterday named in the 21-man squad set to face Parramatta on Saturday.
