There are reports this morning that David Klemmer has requested a release from the Bulldogs following a contract dispute.

Klemmer still has three years on his current deal, but according to smh.com.au, has asked to be let go at season's end.

At the heart of the issue is apparently a financial deal coming undone which was promised to him by the club, with questions also arising about his ability to maintain a starting spot with the squad including Aaron Woods, Aiden Tolman and James Graham in 2018.

"My understanding is that it will be all sorted out," Triple M's Paul Kent said.

"It's all a bit doomsday in the papers.

"There is a small financial dispute going on between Klemmer, the club and a third party (not a sponsor).

"It's looking like it will all be resolved tomorrow.

"As far as Klemmer leaving the club, I don't believe it's anywhere near that serious."
