The Maroons camp is reportedly in injury crisis this morning, with multiple sources reporting that there are questions over whether Dane Gagai and Ben Hunt will play Origin I.

While Ben Hunt was spotted training at this morning's Captain's Run, Fox Sports reported that he looked "laboured in his stride" and may have to pass a fitness test later today.

And, just moments ago, teammate Dane Gagai sustained a compound fracture in his finger 30 minutes into the closed training session, with the Courier Mail quoting sources as saying there was blood streaming from his finger.

With Billy Slater yesterday pulling out with a hamstring injury, it means a massive reshuffle for coach Kevvy Walters - and a possible State of Origin debut for Kalyn Ponga.

The Knights rookie was widely tipped to step into Slater's admittedly large shoes but those rumours were shot down this morning with reports that Anthony Milford would be on the bench.

With the Queensland side rocked by a nightmare build-up to Game I, though, Ponga may very well be playing in front of 85,000 fans at the MCG tomorrow night.
