Sydney Roosters NRL star Shaun Kenny-Dowall has 'written a letter' to the NRL Integrity Unit, denying the use of cocaine, reports The Daily Telegraph’s Buzz Rothfield.

“My client has been subjected to many random tests in his substantial playing career. He has never broken the rules in this area of chemicals or prohibited substances," Kenny-Dowall's lawyer Chris Murphy said in a story in The Daily Telegraph.

"My client invites the NRL to arrange any test immediately they desire to establish the state of any drugs that may be in an illegal drug user’s system." Read the full story here.

It’s understood the 29-year-old player was searched at the Ivy nightclub on George Street about 1am last Friday and officers allegedly found .46 grams of the drug in a small resealable bag.

The Kiwi national was last year acquitted of domestic violence after he was accused of headbutting, pushing and putting his former girlfriend Jessica Peris in a headlock.

It has been reported that Shaun Kenny-Dowall's deal with the Knights may be in jeopardy, following allegations that SKD was found with cocaine in his possession during a night out at the Ivy nightclub in Sydney.

@9NewsSyd has said that SKD has taken the unusual move of documenting blood test of his own volition, however given that his charge from the police pertained to possession of the drug, whether it was found in his system may be of little relevance to the police invesitigation. Check out the video below.

However, this could aid in SKD's contract negotiations.

SKD is off-contract with the Roosters at the end of this year, and it's been speculated that the Knights were looking at a $1.2 million, three-year deal.
